Alright guys. I was tooling around town today, and decided to get on it a few times ont he way home. When I pulled into the driveway, I noticed smoke coming from the engine bay. It turns out to be oil burning on the exhaust mani. The dip stick was out and oil was on the underside of my hood. My uncle drove my car one other time when this happened, but it was way worse. (he sprayed it all over the engine) But I am not sure what would cause this to happen. I have read the recommended threads and none of them sound like my problem. What would cause the pressure to make oil come from my dipstick. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks in advance :D

How is your pcv system? I had this problem for a couple of weeks after my rebuild. I put a small check valve inline in front of the stock pcv valve, routed the other side back into the intake pipe, and put a new oil cap on. Ive not seen my dipstick blown out since.

Doubtful its clogged. The stock pcv valve, even new, wont check boost pressure very well, hence the extra check valve. There was a very imformative thread on this a few months back but i dont remember the name of it.

on top side of valve cover on the left hand side facing the intake manifold. has a rubber hose on it going to the intake.

FYI, me and Calan have posted waaaay too many threads about PCV systems and things like dipsticks popping out, but I recently had it happen to me.

I have a somewhat-modified PCV system: check valve between the PCV valve and IM and a catch can between the breather and intake pipe.

I checked all of my PCV system and it checked out: check valve is still checking, PCV valve is still checking, and catch can (a big GM fuel filter) isn't clogged. I have more work to do, but this only happens when I cruise on the highway which is rare (I have a 5 mile round trip, in-city commute), so I keep putting it off.

So, the other things I *will* check (and that you may want to check) that may cause this are (1) low compression from ring wear and (2) leaking valve seals. I had great compression 2 years ago and haven't put 10k on my motor since, but if that's the issue, blow-by past the piston rings can overwhelm the VC breather leading to too much crankcase pressure (and the dipstick seems to be the next-easiest way out). A BLT may reveal leaking valve seals (not sure if you can hear it through the oil cap opening or not - if not, it would show up as a lower compression number). If leaking, these provide another path for gases during the compression and power strokes to leak from the combustion chamber into the valve train area above the head, which can also overwhelm the PCV system.

Anyway, I'm pretty lazy with my car lately, so I haven't done those two simple tests, but I can claim for the record that you can pop your dipstick with a fully-functional PCV system.
