Oil spray???

Pulled into drive way at home to find oil had sprayed around the engine. It is on the tranmission side of the block. there are no leaks visible and oil level is still in the safe zone. Are the any oil lines that run over the tranny, up against the engine? How can i check the tranny oil level?

There are oil lines on that side that come off the turbo. Check those and try to get a picture of it.

I will try that. Are these lines prone to breaking?

couldnt spot any oil lines that went over tranmission, am i missing something?

they dont go over the tranny, they sit to the left of the intake side of the turbo under the upper radiator hose, near the block.

I traced down all lines going to and from the turbo and they looked ok. The oil is pooled up on the tranny. I started it again and couldnt spot any additional leaking. Maybe i should clean off all the oil and wait for it to leak again? Sounds like it has to be a gasket and the passanger side of the block. The only thing in the general are of the leak is wiring.

by the way, there is a hole on the left side of the valve cover, towards the back. It doesnt look like it goes all the way through though. What is this for? should there be a rubber plug in it? (its not damaged, it was designed there)

I think you are talking about your PCV valve, that should have a line connecting directly to your intake manifold, at least that is stock form.
