Oil return line gaskets questions

Ok I am reaching the final stages of my turbo transplant.
I am just waiting for my oil return line gaskets to come in tommorrow
to finish it up.

How do the gaskets go? theres a little rubber ring on the lower gasket(I have this one)
does it go against the pan or the oil line.

Is there anything special I should know about the upper line gasket?

Do I need to seal anything up with gasket maker, I have ultra black here just in case.

I would really appreciate any info you guys could give me.

I want to get this right and the book I have doesnt help me any on this
subject.

on my 1g i could not get the lower gasket to stop leaking for the death of me... and i to didnt know which way it went... i bought more than one of the gaskets when i got them.. so i doubled it up... the ring facing one way with one of the gaskets and the other one the other way... hasnt leaked sinse..

on mine i coated the non-oring side with ultra black and tightened it up. no leaks.

The flange on the pan must have crush washers under the heads of the capscrews. The nuts welded onto the inside of the pan are open to the sump, and oil will run out through the threads.
Using cut-off electrical ring connectors will make good crush washers. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN. The nuts are very easy to strip out.
