so i'm sure its out there somewhere but i cant find it and if any of you would help i would be very appreciative. So my 1990 talon tsi i have a aftermarket boost gauge and oil pressure gauge. cold start she is pinned at a 100psi slow moves down to 80 then to 60 and at HOT shes at 45. at idle after driving shes at 20 psi. 2 grand rpm shes like at 60 and at 3 grand she is pinned at 100 psi. I don't know i'm super lost, is this fine or what?
shes got around 40,xxx on a Jasper motor. shes stock except a free flowing cat a muffler and aftermarket boost controller and gauges. I've heard of drilling out the oil release valve and it can lower your psi by like 30! is that true or what?

Thank you for your time:)

Does the engine still have balance shafts? I'd assume it doesn't with oil pressure like that. But that is typical oil pressure after a BSE on a healthy engine. So it's not going to cause any immediate or serious damage, but it can cause seals to leak along with other small issues. You can port the relief hole on the oil filter housing to relieve some pressure. There is also the option of clipping the relief spring if porting doesn't help. But I would advise searching and reading carefully before doing so. Too much oil pressure won't kill your engine, but messing up the oil filter housing can.
