So my car is currently having high oil prerssure. My guge reads up to 100+ when I lightly go on throttle, also my engine seems to have a sputtering sound or a "pause within the engine" im not sure how to actually describe the noise. I plan on uploading a video to show exactly what its doing. Any idea on what my problem may be would be appreciated.

Sorry I haven't replied to anything, i haven't had time to get on. Well during the last few days its gotten worse. It smokes on start up and today coming home from school on the highway it was struggling to get any faster than 40mph i did finally managed to get it past 40. And it was making that noise I tried to describe earlier like crazy. :banghead:

Anyone?

Where does the sound comes from?

If the sounds comes from the head, it may be a lifter...

If the sounds comes from the bottom engine and sounds like a ticking noise, you may have spun a bearing...

If the sounds comes from the turbo, your turbo may be broken...

Just because your dip stick blows out Does Not mean you have blow by. The rubber or plastic on the dip stick can get worn causing it to be looser in the dipstick tube and will blow out.

Then let me ask you this.... so the seal "wears out" and magically the dipstick pops itself up? :aha:

Bottom line, the reason for it getting pushed up is due to a force on the other side, that force is blow by or positive air flow into the crankcase. This is due to the lack of a working PCV or ventilation system. :thumb:

The sound is coming from the front. Here is a video, skip to 1:30 and anytime after that you can hear the noise, its like a "thumping sound".

wow that sounds like a truck.

whats the condition of the oil pan? is it dented or bent? i would pull the pain and look at the oil pick up strainer and make sure its not bent or clogged. Also check the bearings to make sure they are ok. It seams like there is a knocking noise in the video but its always hard to tell in a video.

Wow some people just like to argue apparently LOL:ohdamn:..... thanks for telling me you know what a check valve is LOL I never said you didn't:thumb:, and thanks for telling me that if the pcv works properly you don't need this check valve. omfg tell me something I dont know, thats why I even brought this up because the pcv tends to leak. This is not a pissing contest I'm trying to help this guy. The person who wrote that article on the one way check valve is a long time dsm member. He has been there and done that so I trust what he is saying. Its like some peeps on this site think they are god and dont have an open mind to new info. :banghead:

You guys need to calm down, LOL. :p
But my pcv valve is working correctly. Ive even tried a different one with the same results. The sound honestly sounds like its coming from my block.

A bearing before it spins can cause high oil pressure because it can block the oil port. once it spins you have low oil pressure as there is no restriction from the bearing any more.

I would start there if it sounds like its coming from the block.

Wow...

There are a lot of noises in that video!

I wouldn't run that engine anymore in that condition...

I would recommend taking the oil pan out first and checking the bearings... That would be the first thing I would do...

I have a 1g talon ,and I am having the same high oil psi. My balance shafts have been deleted. starts up at 80psi. When I give it any throttle it passes 100psi. When at fully warmed up it goes to 40psi at the lowest, but if I rev it then it still goes past 100psi. I have tried it with 2 different mechanical gauges. I am trying to find a threat to tell me about the pressure spring to get if the balance shafts are deleted? If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

You need to port your Oil Filter Housing..
(Do a search)

Can you help me a bit. Can you direct me to a thread about it or explaine to me how to do it please? I really don't wanna wash the bearings with the high oil pressure LOL.

Nevermind I finally found it after like 23 pages LOL. I found it by reading something different. Thank you though.

OK. Well I found a couple of threads to drill it and everything but. My question is this. How do I know how much to remove before I go to much? I cant find any info on that. Or do I just do a little at a time until it gets where I want it?
