the oil line blew off the oil cooler and drained the oil.the car smokes now and I thought maybe it was the rings but when I called the shop the guy said if the motor isnt making any noise than he is 99% sure the turbo seals went south...anybody had this problem?what test can I do to find out if its the turbo or rings?....91 talon

do a compression test, both wet and dry. if the initial dry compression is "low" then you drop some oil in and the compression raises, the rings are the most likely culprit.

if it drained enough oil out it probably starved the cylinders of the lubrication they need and could have possibly wiped out the rings.
