1G OIL LEAKING HELP

ok so I have oil leaking in a weird spot not sure where it can be coming from

I have a feeling I will have to pull the tranny to fix this leak but before I do where is it coming from

I attached a few pics to show where it is leaking

I am 90% sure it is not leaking out of the main seal I replaced it new before I dropped the motor in 2 weeks ago

it was leaking before I pulled the motor and I thought it was just the main seal so before I put the motor back in I replaced it but it is STILL leaking from some where

it is leaking from between the shield plate and the block I put my finger up there and felt the block between the main seal and where it is leaking and it is dry witch leads me to believe its not the main seal

I don't see were on here it can be coming from could it be coming from that plug or could of I put the wrong bolt(to long) on the tranny that goes to the block and cracked it some how???

I had the same issue , brand new rebuilt motor new seals everything, had my tranny builder take down the tranny and yep,he tightened that plug that caps the oil gallery on the block that same plug in the pic on the right hand side of the block.. Mine was loose he said and he tightened it put everything back together . Two months now since fixed and still no more oil leak at all. All has been good. I had the same problem as you its that plug its needs to be checked.

Probably oil gallery plug replace with a new one and thread sealer them I torqued mine forgot the torque spec.

thanks guys that's what I was guessing to looks like me and the tranny have a date.

well this can be a learning lesson because I never thought to check that plug so it would be a good idea to always check that plug to make sure it is tight even if you did not mess with it.

Bingo it was the oil galley plug

man that tranny sucked ass getting back in but I got it
