Hey DSMer's,

I am just curious. I have an oil leak, about 1 drip per second. My questions is this. I think the leak is coming from the valve cover gasket, but I wanted to know if the VCG could leak at such a fast rate... I think that one drop per second is pretty fast for just a leak from that area.

I am using synthetic oil, which could add to the leak rate. Overall I was just wondering if anyone has seen an oil leak from the VCG leak that quickly.

Thanks in advance.

:aha: Really, ? your question is very vague , of course we have all seen oil leaks before, but it's not going to provide you with any help. Let us help you, by first helping yourself, take the cover of and look to see whats causing it, then post a pic so we can see the same thing you are.
I'm just guessing but, you haven't tried to yet ?

I already took the cover off. Already reseated it and torqued it down. I was just curious if a leak from the valve cover gasket could drop oil that quickly.

No problem though. I will grab a new VCG, since I know that's where it is leaking from and go from there.
