All right, I recently purchased another dsm, this time as unmodified as I could find, just a tubular exhaust manifold, but anyway here is my dilemma, about the third day of driving... after some "Spirited" driving, I noticed a small amount of smoke coming from under the hood, after my initial shock and praying to the deities that my 1400 dollar investment wouldn't burst into flame, I limped her home... So anyways heres all I got, The leak is coming at the turbo, its not just a leak it's hemorrhaging oil about 2 qts, If I stay off the pedal,no smoke no leak even, so high oil pressure is forcing oil out onto to something hot, I'm also fairly sure it is one or both of the oil lines on the turbo side, also there is no loss of performance, the oil is leaking onto the turbo and smoking off, I don't think I blew a gasket though,..
BTW its a 1Ga TSi AWD. Just asking for some help, still not a veteran in the my own mechanic area Thanks

P.S. I used search but the only information I found was for leaks on the oilpan side of things and blown turbo gaskets.

I'm confused by what you're saying, because there should only be two oil lines going to/from a turbo, the oil feed and the oil return. It sounds like you have a leaky oil feed. Make sure it's not just loose, and if it's shot either get a new stock one or grab a braided stainless unit from a vendor here.

woops, yeah I meant its coming from either the oil feed or return lines, sorry for the confusion. So I may need a new oil feed? also the reason I state that i believe it's the oil lines is that the burned gunk is forming on top of the turbo... So unless my hood has an oil leak. LOL. anyways thanks

bet you spun the brass bearings in the turbo, or they grenaded in pieces and now fell into the oil pan with you losing that much oil.

Wonder if the turbo was ready to go when you got it...

Sorry on that if that is what happened....

Are you getting lot's of smoke from the tailpipe as well?Unless you are your turbo is probably fine.If your leaking that much it should be easy to tell.
