oil issues

I've got oil leaking into the spark plug area. (Sry, technical terms for everything are still being added to my vocab.) How dangerous is this? I've cleaned the area as well as I can, and put a new gasket on the oil cap. I didn't notice any oil around the spark plugs themselves, but what could go wrong if I missed some? Thanks.

The worst that could happen is the spark plug hole filling with oil and ruining your plugs/wires.
