I have this bolt that i need to get, I cant seem to figure the size. It is the bolt that is above the top left exhaust manifold stud, (circled in PIC)

I have tried 10x1, 10x1.25, 10x1.5....none will screw in by hand. I have also tried 8x1.25, and so on. Is it an oddball 9mm?? If so that sucks.

It's NPT. (AKA) pipe thread. You need a pipe plug and some thread sealer.

What is that there for, i've been wondering?

The plug? It's there to prevent oil from spraying out the front of the head.

The hole? It's there so they can drill the passage that sends oil to the camshafts and lifters.

oh ok thanks, i have a 6-bolt block with a 7-bolt modded oil pump, i sure hope it was done right, and oil gets to my crankshaft. Thanks

I don't think the head would have ever left the Mitsubishi factory if it wasn't drilled right, so don't worry.

Ps. The oil doesn't have to pass throught the head to get to the crankshaft, so... Refer to the above diagram.

Nooo, colt, i have a 6-bolt block, with a modified 7-bolt front case/oil pump on it, (by the crank pulley) so i hope th oil pump is modded right..just from your diagram.
