it's been brought to my attention that i may have a bad oil cooler that is causing me to blow motors. could someone please inform me on how to either check if mine is bad, clean it out, or what type of replacement oil cooler i can use? also when i was searching i read something about -6, could someone explain this to me also, and let me know what - or + number i should be looking for? thanks

-6 is an AN fitting number, Irrelivant if you have a stock oil cooler setup. The only way the oil cooler would be causing you to blow motors is if A) the seal was bad and it was dumping all of your oil on the ground or B) the seal was bad and it was mixing coolant with your oil and getting to your bearings. How did you bearings looking in your other motors? How does the coolant look under the cap and how does the oil look. I doubt it could be your oil cooler becasue it would be obvious if it wasn't flowing because you would have no oil pressure or if it was mixing coolant and oil.

I remember reading in the CLUB DSM archives ( I think) that the oil coolers can be over-tightened which can cause metal parts inside to break off causing severe engine damage. A Mitsu design flaw apparently.
