Oil coming out of BOV, Oil in intake.

I'm losing about a quart of oil every 3000 miles or so. When I did a search on this topic there was a forum saying to replace the pcv valve and to install a catch can or filter on the valve cover breathing tube, however this was for a second generation.

Will the same kind of fix work on my 1G or is there something else wrong, something else I have to do?

Yeah, install an oil catch can between your valve cover and your intake. Oil in those areas isnt uncommon, but mass quantities is never a good thing.

Also, if you're noticing a quart of oil missing around 3,000 miles, but no leaks noticable, that is time to change your oil anyway. Just change it and dont worry about it. Keep your eyes on the level though, add oil if its low, dont run around on the "add" level mark just cause youre gonna change it within the next 200 miles

Another thing, since you are noticing oil in both the intake and BOV, the intercooler is between both of those points, you might want to take an afternoon and clean the intercooler. You might be suprised with the gunk that may come out of it

I figured as much and already searched out all the intercooler cleaning forums I just wanted to make sure the same fix would work on the 1G.
