im doing a balance shaft removal first i ordered a pci? kit and i was told not to use it because its not the right shaft its smooth and will sieze up great just what i want to happen so thats a $30.00 decoration on my wall and now im thinking of ordering the oem kit because i read that works well but is this worth doing?

I always cut off the end of the balancing shaft, and thread and plug the oil galley. (oem stub shaft)

yea i seen the vfaq on how to do it the free-way. thanks:hellyeah: i was wondering about why you would want to go thru all of this work for? to gain oil pressure? i just dont want to do this for no reason other then sayin "i removed my balance shafts"

The only time i would take them out is if the engine is already apart for a rebuild. You're not wanting to take them out of a good running engine are you?

thank you for clearing that up i just did the top end and im gonna put on a gates timing belt for the finishing touch and i just like to do everything in the section all at once that im working on so i dont have to do the same work over and over again because 20 year old parts break at random times so i put new anything needed and i see alot of people speaking about removing the balance shafts so i figured i would if there was a purpose thanks for telling me that :rocks:
