Boring, Oregon
This morning I started hearing an audible clicking coming from my car. It only does it when im moving, I assumed it might be an issue with my rear drum but apon inner inspection the drum looks good. Im starting to thinks its my driveline, ive had a feeling of binding or something recently when I go to reverse and started to lets off the car almost acts like I hit somethings and bounces back. I can really hear it coming from the passenger side as im coasting with the car off. It almost sounds like im on train track... click, click, click , pause, click, click, click. Any inout helps im not sure on this one u joints maybe? Tommorowso my days off so ill have time to gets under and look

They seem fine, I just took a quick look though... Ive always had them make a bunch of noise when turning when their on their way out but ill put that on my check list.

It doesnt intensify when I turn its the same straight or turning as lOMG as im moving .

This ones got me interested, I havent heard much about u joint issues on dsms. Maybe that's what my issue is LOL

So I got it up off all fours and it sounds like the center diff. The sound is almost that of a train track, but we cant tell exactly whetherws its the trans, transfer case or diff. It sounds loudest when im next to the t case rather then the tranny, im off the gets a stethoscope.. It also does it when rolling, with car off in nuteral so im ruling out the clutch assembly

Turns out it was my transfer case, it looks as if the seal failed and pooped my shockproof out. What was left was a half a cup of metal slurry, very nice LOL. I looked and apperantly alldata has tsb stating theres a recall for this very thing. I might not be stating anything new but I had no clue. Anyhow I was able to spin the output on the t case and very mildly recreate the noise so in with the news case in an hour or two.

Fixed and back on the road, I cant stand bumming rides LOL.
