obx manifold junk

Im new to the site and it wont let me post this in the turbo section.

I bought a 95 gsx with a 6 bolt swap and the all the bells and whistles. The only problem is that it has an obx turbo mani that cracked and i know that there know for this but i need help finding a nice new one that wont give me any problems. Im running a 40mm tail external wastegate btw.

You need to update your profile to say what you have. Also, look at the vendors page and see all the people that make exhausts. Extremepsi, JNZtuning, and Punishment racing are my personal favorites. Good Luck

If you want a good cast manifold get the Forced Performance race manifold. That has a provision for external wastgate also. Good price too.

If you want a good cast manifold get the Forced Performance race manifold. That has a provision for external wastgate also. Good price too.

Wrong. There is no provision for the external gate on the manifold because FP runs their gates off of the inlet of the turbine housing.

That still doesn't answer any questions. Telling us your compressor wheel doesn't tell us which turbine housing you are using.

Well, it can only be one or the other. There's no such thing as a "T3/T4 flange".

If you want something reliable get a EVO III 16g with an EVO III exhaust manifold. The turbo is available internally gated (I'm sure the wastegate you have is more then likely a cheap knock off like the turbo and manifold are), and it will be reliable as a Honda... You can get the manifold and turbo for around $500 used and around $800 or so new for both.

OBX manifold is for a stock flange turbo. Post a pic of where it's cracked. You can probably just have it fixed.

If you can't determine which housing it is by looking at it, then post some pictures so we can.

Not necessarily. I used to have a T3 OBX manifold.

It will continue to happen because OBX manifolds are crap. They are not even worth the cost of the metal they are made from. I've seen them crack in a matter of 2 weeks before. Dont expect $500+ quality out of a $100 or less item.
