OBX Exhaust manifold??? GOOD or bad

Check into the FP race exhaust manifold. Inexpensive, cast for durability, and everything I have read about it on these forums points to satisfaction with the product and performance

I used to have one of the obx ram horn headers. I had the welds checked over and the flange milled because it was some what warped. I used it for about 2yrs with my 20g on it and never had an issue with it what so ever. The kid I sold the car to is still rocking it right now as a matter of fact!! I have seen a few people on here who have said that they have had some issues with it hitting the hood and making it hard to close it up.

I run the OBX ramhorn manifold (t3),

There only real problem, is cracking at the weld,, or not being fully welded. when i got mine , we welded it 2 times over the other welds,to make sure it don't crack.

OBX now welds them 2 times from the factory.

The main thing you pay for is the NAME (brand)

Thy are actually really high quality (usually)

I ran one for a while but it's more of a ricey bling factor than a real HP gainer.

I now run the FP race manifold that is probably $50 more than the cheinese built tubular manifold and it works better.

These Obx headers arent your normal ebay header guys. They are going for about $300-375 and they come all braced up etc. Like I said the one thats on my old 1g is about 2 1/2 yrs old and hasnt had any issues I know of.

Yeah but we should all remember that quality issues can happen with any part no matter the price or the name on the box it comes in. Road Race Engineering has 3 Greddy race manifolds in their garage sale section because they all cracked and when they talked to Greddy they said they weren't meant to be raced with WTF. You can ask 10 different people and get 10 different answers. That being said, the FP cast manifolds are relatively affordable and I haven't heard much negative about them. Another option is an evo3 manifold. They are a upgrade from stock and you can find them cheap. It all depends on what amount of performance and durability you are looking for.

I would say stick with the evo3 mani, it is a proven & tested to be great, and if thats not good enough Port it.

In "most" cases the stock is best (mani evo3) unless your making 400+HP.
