obd 2 reset?

I was always told by my mechanic buds that obds had to be reset after the problem was fixed, butthe DB at auto zone is telling me that obd 2s reset themselves. My 420a has been throwing codes, one for tps, one for ect (both of which I recently replaced) one for02 sensor unreadable (wtf?)
And one for cylinder 3 misfire (yet she's running fine).fyi the cel has been on since I bought her 6 months ago. Is there any way I can reset the ecu myself?
