O2 sensor wire under passenger dash works?

I read from one site that you can monitor O2 sensor voltage by using a wire that is taped to the factory harness in the passenger side dash area. Has anyone tried this?

even if there is such a mystery wire, why would you want/need to use it? The wire at the ECU is closer and easier to get to anyways......are you planning on running a Narrow Band A/F gauge on the Passenger A pillar?

On a 1g there's a wire near the ECU for monitoring o2 signal? I'm not going to be using a gauge, im just going to boost a few times and see if the voltage drops below 0.85V with a multimeter.

It should be Pin 4 on your ECU. White wire with orange bands...
