My car has an IAC issue and throws code for that every now and then, but the code isn't displayed right now. I cut into the harness and spliced it back together while installing my o2 housing. There were two black wires, a blue one, and a white one. I wired it back together (though not the best way, I'm going to get bud connectors this weekend) but I'm not sure if wiring up the two black identical wires wrong would have caused this. Also, the o2 sensor is snug inside the new housing, but not as tight as could be. I couldn't get an angle on it, I'm going to try with a crow's foot when I get to it. Any input would be helpful-thanks.

Oh, also, I'm open downpipe right now until I can get my catback welded up. The rear o2 sensor is still on the catback.

Come to think of it, this happened when I installed my Greddy UICP and BOV, but went away after a week. Since then I've installed an FMIC, but it didn't happen after that.

Also, I wrapped the four wires coming off the o2 sensor with foil tape to protect it from heat- would that cause some kind of weird grounding effect or something?

The 2 black wires are the heater wires and it doesn't matter what way they are connected. And how is this question related to the ISC problem?

it isn't, i was just saying that my iac (isc?) didn't throw a code so i was certain that there wasn't a code being thrown while the car was idle hunting

new issue, kind of- the idle hunt went away, but i threw p0141. i know why- i have no rear o2 sensor. it had to be cut out because it was seized inside of the stock o2 bung when i was getting the rest of my catback welded up to a full 3" - the wire is kind of dangling there right now.

now, i'm going to get a new o2 sensor, but will i be okay for a while without the rear one? also, for the front o2 sensor on the o2 sensor housing, i had to splice into the harness. i didn't solder or use bud connectors when i spliced it back because i know its only supposed to have .1-.9v of resistance. should that be fine?
