So I just recieved and installed a safc 2 into my vehicle. I didnt solder in any of the wires, just cut a gap in the rubber coverings and wrapped the safc wires there. But for the MAS I cut the wire into and then wrapped the two safc wires to each corresponding end. I then turned my biss all the way out then started the car. It started and idled at 1500. So I adjusted my 1000 rpm range til It idled at 1000 where I wanted it. Then I went on to 2000 and adjusted it so there were no missing/backfires... Then went to 3000. Then so on. Then when I let off the throttle my idle went down to 1000 and then constantly surged from 1000 to 1500 w/o me touching the throttle. Now I cant adjust anything ### with it surging it wont respond to the changes that I make. Soo what do I do? Also I did a boost leak test last week and everything was good so no leaks and I have 550cc injectors.

close the biss a bit more, youre getting too much air pass the throttle plate. if you still have the IAC then set idle to 850 rpms and 14.7:1 AFR. if you have block off plate then set it to 1000 rpms and same ratio. make sure you do changes when car is in operational temps.

I dont think I have the IAC...I bought this car the way it is 3 weeks ago but I dont think it has it because their is only 1 vaccum hose running to the throttle body. The others have plates over them. I want it at 1000 ### I have 272 cams and they have a rough idle but how do I get it to 14.7:1 AFR? Monitor my wideband?

Vacuum lines have nothing to do with the IAC. Just go see if you have the bottom part of the TB or not. There should be like a square wire plug going to it and two water lines.

And yes you have to watch the wideband, if you have logger even better, but keep an eye of the WB and play with the SAFC.

Just leave it there if it works. Watch the WB and set the AFR to 14.7 at 1k as you want it.

yes I want it at 1000 and I dont want to do anything to my ecu, thats y I got the SAFC. Ill try twisting the biss screw back in a little and see if it idles then w/o surging

Well before I installed the SAFC I had the biss set correctly and it idled at 1000. Then I read a tuning guide for the safc and it said to adjust the biss all the way out so I did that and now I get idle surge. This also happened when I chaged spark plugs when I first bought the car but I just adjusted the screw and it fixed it. I think ill just adjust it back in til it idles where I want it then try and do my fuel trims

Without changing the ECU programming it will try to make the car idle at 750. Adjusting the BISS to make the car idle higher forces the ISC all the way closed until the ECU can no longer adjust the idle speed and can cause the car to surge since the BISS is misadjusted.
