Ive searched for a good 2 hours now on dsmtalk, dsmtuner, and nj.dsm.org and have come to the conclusion that everyone agrees to get a dp with an o2 eliminator with it. But what i cant find is if there are any significant power/spool increase with getting an eliminator over using the stock housing? Im on the stock t-25 right now but will install my t28 in the spring so im not going to be dumping and its a street car that wont be taken to the track more than once or twice. Are the gains from going with the eliminator enough to drop the extra $100 for it?

I dropped 500 rpm's off of my spoolup (3rd gear) when I installed my o2 eliminator. You don't have to get a o2 eliminator, but a upgraded o2 housing and downpipe will defidently give you better performance and more power.

i've compared cars with another dude that has roughly the same thing that i do, but i think his is just a turbo back no-o2 elim exhaust. after driving my car, he said that my turbo spools much more quickly than his in all gears... and i noticed that his seems to lag pretty drastically. i think it was worth it, and i would buy the same thing again

on my old setup i noticed about 500 rpm difference in spoolup and more top end with the eliminator. do it and never look back.

Ehh, don't believe everything you read.
those power gains seem crazy but. why would they lie? if anything they would lie about some stupid turbo type r or something. i mean how inacurate can it be? it was done on a dyno. :talon:

yea i dont know... 60whp sounds a little large for a fuel cut defencer  ... anyway, i think im gonna go with the eliminator just because of the faster spool and i cant stand lag. thanks guys

i have all of those things... sort of. full exhaust, new fuel pump, safc and hacked mas to get rid of fuel cut. so my 14b is putting out 300hp without a boost controller or free mods? BS flag is flying high. perhaps they acquired a car that had a 16g unbeknownst to them?

not just 300 hp, 300 wheel hp... hell, with my maft, intake, mbc, 190 pump, 550's and soon to be rnr o2 elim turbo back, i should be pushing a good 350 :D ... if im anywhere near 300 after this entire exhaust ill be very happy. we'll just have to see

I gained 53whp from o2 elim Downpipe.

But honestly, your not going to gain massive horsepower. Youre going to get quicker spool, and a LITTLE more power. Probly wont even notice anything other than a lil quicker spool.

ported evo manifold and 3" cat-less, turbo-back exhaust were my first major mods... and it felt incredibly fast afterwards. not just the "butt-dyno," but a noticeable difference that people who ride with me regularly commented on

are u saying u cant notice 53 whp? i'm not sure i follow u there.....

He was joking. He didn't gain 53whp from his DP. When I installed mine I had already done the Injen intake, N-1 exhaust, GReddy intercooler pipes and Type-S - but I was on my T-25. I barely noticed any difference at all power wise or sound wise, but the turbo did spool up quite a bit faster and would spike to 19psi occasionally.

any exhaust work you do, the power you "feel" is going to be from the turbo. Exhaust will give you power more then a 4 clynder about the same as a v8, but 90% of what you feel after installing your exhaust is the effect it had on the turbo.....not the exhaust.
