o2 dump question?

It looks like some (or maybe it was just one) people are confusing an atmospheric wastegate dump with an atmospheric BOV dump. Two totally different things. The blow off valve is on the IC pipes and makes the "pshhhhh" sound between shifts. A wastegate is inside the turbo (for most of you) and opens when the desired boost is reached. It will open (and stay open) when you hit full boost. When you dump it to the atmosphere what you are essentially doing is dumping exhaust out without going through the exhaust system. It's loud. It's hard to describe the exact sound but it's a loud unmuffled exhaust sound more or less. And it will make this noise when you hit full boost and keep making it until you shift.

It's not legal
It's not emissions legal
It will attract attention (possibly unwanted attention)

This may be a little off topic, but how would the o2 dump sound with just a downpipe, nothing else, sound like?

The dump itself would sound the same. The exhaust on the other hand would be louder all the time. Do you understand the concept of the dump?

I understand the concept of the dump. I just thought it would kind of double the sound or something like that, when the dump opens up while your running the open exhaust. Sorry if it sounded like a newbie kind of question.

all i know is that by looking at that picture..... that turbo performance one doesnt even look like it will bolt on..

compare that picture to the victory performance. the flanges are totally different.

here is the one that i made..... and this is a direct bolt on and exact fit.

Does anyone know the exact sound it makes or something that somewhat resembles the sound. I have heard people say it is loud, but there are many types of lound noises that you don't want coming out from under your hood. Is the sound like a blow off valve or like your engine is gona blow up loud. I want to get one for my TSi and i just need someone who has an O2 dumbs opinion. Just wondering?
