So I have been reading a lot on this but haven't found actual fixes, or what to look at/how.

When I let off the gas and slow down I hear a grinding sound. 4th and 5th is the most prominent but can be heard in 3rd and very slightly in 2nd. Higher the RPM the louder the sound also.

Possible causes - I have read that the clutch could be the culprit, TOB, shift forks, in/out bearings. The clutch is pretty new being a competition 2100lb and a competition light weight fly wheel also. Rear seal and TOB was replaced at this time. Did seem the start after I got this done. Though it wasn't immediately after.

Can some one help point me in the right direction on how to start pin pointing the problem. Or how to nock some things off the list. Thanks a lot guys.

No it's a loud deep grind almost a rattle. Sounds metal to metal kinda. Hard to explain sounds but coming from passenger side. Faster I go/ higher RPMs the louder it is.[DOUBLEPOST=1410048314][/DOUBLEPOST]

if its the same sound I have then your bearings inside the trans are just worn and your shafts have too much play in them so they make that noise.

Came across this post. Any one?
[DOUBLEPOST=1410048989][/DOUBLEPOST]Also did want to put in that the sound stops around 3k - 3.5k[DOUBLEPOST=1410049946][/DOUBLEPOST]http://clyp.it/playlist/rnzmjogs

This is the sound. Hope it plays.[DOUBLEPOST=1410051732][/DOUBLEPOST]Ok I found this

Sounds like this is my problem.

I'm going to try a new clutch and flywheel set up. It has to wait until I get back from my vacation and save little bit, but I'll let everyone no if that's the problem.

Any other input is still much appreciated.

Adding any "harder" or solid bushings only helps amplify this known noise. As stated by donnie, you are more than likely hearing clutch chatter. This is more prominent with a solid hub disc but a sprung hub disc can chatter too.

You could check your exhaust to make sure its not rubbing at any point and check the backlash in your rear differential but thats reaching and digging further than you probably need too.

That sounds like some serious metal on metal, like something thin rubbing on something thick. Maybe like Robert said, could be an exhaust component rubbing, possibly the downpipe right at the block ? Check there and see if there's any wear on the d/p.

Mine used to do this and I had no idea what it was. It went away when I replace my clutch though (new clutch, shift fork TOB, etc). I think I have a video of it before I switched the clutch, I'll see if I can find it.
