I just bought my talon about 2 weeks ago now and i noticed there are times where it would show it boostin fine(I got a boost gauge) But it would barely pull..I dont know if cleaning the intercooler would help any? I do have a check engine light on( because of a bad knock sensor) would it kill performance or harm anything? Could a possible boost leak do it? Its weird because the check engine light is on all the time but there are those times where it pulls really hard and times it wont. ANy suggestions and help would be appreciated :thumb: :talon: :dsm: :laser:

Well if you have a manual, your clutch could be slipping. My car needs a new clutch, and if I give it to much throttle it won't pull at all just revs up. Another posiblility is a boost leak, check all the vacuum lines make sure they are alright. Did you do all the basic maintanence on the car? Also, check to make sure the MAF is connected properly. If you have a friend with a pocket logger, u may want to use it to see all the other problems the ECU is reporting.

I know for sure my clutch is not slipping, I really havent done any hose work yet there may be a little leak somewhere, I have done most basic mainteance on it....What about the knock sensor? Will it harm the perfromance any if the knock sensor is bad?

Whats up Dan. I think you may have a fatty boost leak. In my car when I Boost 15psi then 18psi I dont feel much of a pull. I'm thinking its because of the fat boost leak I found where the throttle body bolts to the Intake manifold. Do a leak down test. You will be suprised to how many leaks you could find. I would let you barrow my tester but you live in Missouri now :notgood: .

I got a knock sensor from a friend last night so i was going to put it in this morning, While doing that i noticed the plug on the knock sensor was not attched to the plug so i reconnected it and started it up with the same knock senosr that was in my car the whole time and it was perfectly fine, cel doesnt light up no more and there is alot more power :thumb:
