car not pulling

I have a 91 talon tsi with a dejon cold air, and my problem is that my car will boost on my guage and you can hear it spool but it will not pull the car it just boosts and the car just keeps reving high without gaining the normal boost speed car also sputters and backfires while just in nuetral any know what my problem is.

Boost leak? Slipping clutch?

Well, I would strongly suggest performing a boost leak test, and from past experience, you can have leaks everywhere. So, if you could be sure that your clutch isn't slipping, start with a boost leak.

how s your timing?

Check the knock sensor on the back of the block. Make sure theres no black goo coming from it. This would cause pull timing making it feel like your going no where.
