Well, a fellow DSMtuner member decided to drive up from Upland, IN to help me out on Friday. Many thanks to Carter 95RS. We didn't accomplish much, but he did bring up some stuff to make a headlight Air Intake for the track in two weeks and turns out I've now got a solid connect for body and paint work.
He showed me some of his work and I think he needs to advertise....
Too much time went into prepping the AMM intake for my Jeep TB. I've got to grind the Alternator bracket yet, too. We did however get the hot side of the IC piping re-routed with new pipe and couplers to get rid of a small boost leak from my crappy welds. We also re-clocked the compressor and the CHRA.
I've been blowing smoke lately due to what I thought was Valve stem seals, but after re-clocking the turbo....Nothing. I let it sit and Idle from cold(when it would smoke the most) and nothing. Drove it around town....nothing. Hammered on it.....nothing. I think I had too much slack in the drain line, which let some oil pool. After about 20k miles I'm starting to get some up and down shaft play, but no in and out. So, I'll drive it till it starts to sound like an asthmatic old man, then get a smaller one. I like my t3/t4 but I want a little bit quicker spool.
I'm going back at it today. Yes, that's right, on Mother's Day. Luckily, it's only cause the ol' lady has to work for most of the day before me and the kids get to celebrate it with her. I'll have pics of everything so far, up with a new post tomorrow. This post is kind of like some filler or "fluff" until I get some real stuff done. 4 more days until my welder gets back in town. So I'll have all the IC pipe welded up soon too...I'm horrible at brazing so the HTS 2000 didn't go so well for those who were wondering. It would have worked, but like I said, I'm horrible at brazing. I need to take a class or two....
