Strathroy,
OK when I got the car it came with a TurboXS Type S BOV but it was blowing to the atmostpher (I know I know so I purchased a 1G off ebay the next day dont worry) but my question is when I rev it should I hear the sound of the BOV ? because I dont also since I never had a turbo car before I hooked up my boost gauge (becuase I wanted to hook up my boost controler) and I noticed when its at idel it stays at around 11 in the VAC...then when i start going it goes to 0 or when i rev it it goes to 0 then back to 11 VAC I thought it had to go to the right side (pressure side) not vac
can anyone help?
Brad :)

Vacuum @ Idle is normal. Giving it a lil' gas and bumping to the gauge to 0 is normal. Give it a lil' more gas while driving until you can hear the turbo spooling... then take your foot off the gas. Not slowly, just take it off. When the throttle body plate slams shut, that boost will have no other easy path to go except the Blow Off Valve...WHOOSH!

Unless your BOV adjustment is way too tight, then it will go back to the only path it has...back to the turbo.... not good.

Crap... mine read -20 hg @ idle, but I've been told that's normal. I give it a lil' gas, it jumps to zero. Then when the turbo starts whining, it spikes to 16psi, then drops and stays around 13...

yeah -11 hg at idle sounds like you have a little vacuum leak. also just revving the motor shouldn't build much boost at all only under load while driving . plus the 1g bov is much quieter than turbo xs is. can you feel it build boost at all when you drive it, if you can you might have a gauge problem? good luck

You went from one of the loudest bov's there is vented to a 1g recirculated. It's definitely gonna be quieter.

LOL true it is loud the guy told me not to put the 1g on and to keep ventin to the athsopher (sp) i though he knew what he was talking about since he had a 13 flat second talon but now im starting to re think...

I have the stock bov, and I cant hear mine at all. my vacuum at idle happens to be 18 in. Hg, but that is at 1100 rpm. for some reason my car idles high sometimes, and some time low. weird, probably my tps, or the isc motor. how come you guys are able to hear your stock bov? I cant hear mine at all. are your bov's crushed? mine isnt, should I still hear it?
