Well it started out good, I finished putting the engine back in my GSX. We went to start it and the Oring on the fuel feed line failed. After getting that fixed it started right up:thumb: to all the clatter of dry lifters after they quited down and setting the timing and all the other small things that always crop up I took it out for a test drive every thing seemed fine but the oil pressure a little bit lower than my TSI but I figured that to thin brake in oil. So the rest of saturday put about 30 miles on it:D But there was one thing it just sounded hot and tight, I could not put my finger on it so wrote it off to the header&3"down pipe.

Come yesterday drove it got it up to 60 miles so decided to drain out the oil and replace the filter, and now the fun begins, picked up 5 qts of 20/50 and a filter got home draned the oil replaced the filter and went to start it, NO OIL PRESSURE shut it down after 10sec. went ot start it a second time and the starter would not turn the engine not to be detured hit it again and it spun like it lost the Tbelt or jumped timeWTF. Got out looked under the car and the 5qts. of oil that was in the engine was now on the driveway:barf: The oil filter must have had a burr so when I put it on felt the tension+ 1/2 turn and stopped the gasket did not come close lesson learned and 5 qts. later.

Now for the rest of the story The Tbelt was still on but nuthing lined up:notgood: lifted the valve cover everything seemed to be in place cut the Tbelt and pulled the cams intake Aok exhaust E5 cap was galled and seased on the camWTF. The only thing I can think is some FOD got in the oil system and found that oil hole. That was the reason for is sounding the way it was.

So the jist of the story one small speck of anything can screw up the works:barf:

Off to the pick&pull In the AM and get a 6bolt Hyundai head and try this again:beatentodeath:

Weird. I've had a cam seize in its journals from lack of lubrication before and shear all the teeth off the belt, but that took a few miles worth of no oil to the head before it actually seized.

I'm surprised to hear it seized that quickly. Sorry to hear that and hope you have better luck next time. :)

Hopefully nothing major is damaged, but maybe a lower weight oil would be better?.My co worker races on the circuit and had a similar problem where he switched to 20W-50 and there was no oil pressure b/c the oil pump wasn't able to pump the heavier weight/viscosity. Maybe you lost the timing on the oil pump sprocket from the higher weight oil? Good luck with everything though.
