sup peepz....quick question

my friend has a GST spyder 98 with the following mods:

EVO III 16G, full 3" exhaust from turbo back, intake, BOV,
stock intercooler but upper i/c pipe. stock plugs and wires,
boost controller with lo @ 11psi and hi @ 16psi.

he just installed a dry kit w/ no purge on his car and when he uses it on low it goes to 20psi. oh hi it goes to god knows how much!

again we are newbs at this NOS stuff so is that boost gauge reading
correct? is that too much for the engine seeing as it doesnt have any
fuel mods yet or range colder plugs? no timing change?

wut would be a good starting point for him to get the most power
out of this setup. AND believe me Fuel managment is defintely in
the near future.

Thanks all.

First off never use a DRY kit on a Turbocharged car, especially when you have no injector upgrade.

If you want to use a dry kit you need larger injectors. Your probably maxing out your injectors now as it is, then your also asking them to supply fuel for the nitrous system. Not gonna happen. The larger injectors give you the extra room you need to support both the turbo and the nitrous kit. This is still a crappy way to do it. Pull the kit out and buy a single nozzle wet kit like one from NX. Then your additional fuel comes from the pump through the nozzle not trying to super max out the injectors.

Fuel pressure rises as boost goes up. Dry nitrous kits also increase pressure when your spraying. Your fuel pressure will end up being super high and your asking stock injectors to do a lot.

Now to your buddies application specifically, he will blow his car up if it's going upto 20psi plus the nitrous. Nitrous creates so much more exhaust volume which is why your now making 20psi (yes the reading on his gauge is correct) and there is no way around this on his setup. In order to fix his problem he will have to goto an external wastegate or have his wastegate ported out to a much larger size (34mm min) to bypass more exhaust to keep the boost down. On an external gate his boost will go up 2-3psi tops.

Basically thats the totally wrong setup for his car and it needs to be removed. He needs a wet kit, dry kits are for NA / Show car guys who are too big of a ####y to run a wet or direct port kit. Also the purge has nothing to do with the operation of the kit so that's pretty well irrelevant.
