Noob Wire Tuck Question

Is it possible or worthwhile to do a wire tuck on a daily driver if I intend to keep A/C, Cruise Control, Power Steering, ABS?

I like the clean engine bay look, but I don't want to give up functionality.

Some people will tell you yes, but i advise against anything that relocated the fuse box in the car. More cut and soldered wires equals the possibility for more problems down the road and complicated solving possible electrical problems in the future. I would just get rid of the things not being used and clean it up with some of the woven loom if you want it to look clean.

Yes you can still tuck some of the wiring. Obviously it wont look as clean as some of the other engine bays you see that do not have ac,cruise etc etc.

But you can still clean the bay up nice. Painted/polished valve cover and heat shields can go along way.

You can also tuck the injector and cas harness down under the rail, which makes a big difference imo.

The jayracing coil pack bracket moves it all down low and out of site as well.

Intake pipe and short route fmic.

Remove the egr and vac lines, fiav delete.

Drop the battery and tray down low on the subframe.

That should get you started haha.

You can DD on either one, I do,. BUT if you want to do a real "Wire Tuck" then its not happening with those items still in the car unless you do custom plumbing which is very possible. BUT if you want to clean up your engine bay, of course it is worth it if you are one of those people who have pride in how their car looks. The real answer is "Why not?" (Can definitely see the difference in the above pic in PS/AC still installed vs non although there is a lot other differences it gives an idea since the hoses for both the A/C and P/S are huge and in the open, not only that but the pump for the P/S is a huge eye sore. and on 1Gs requires and even uglier addition of an oversized bracket which you 2G guys fortunately don't have to contend with.)

Wow you have done a great job. I just got a new car and I am stripping my 2g awd to barely street legal autocross car. I have taken the entire car apart and i am going through and depinning each wire that I dont need. Completely removing ac, heater, ps, abs, srs... It takes a long time. But seeing your pics make me keep going.

I removed my a/c and p/s but I love cruise control so I kept it but that last pic has me seriously contlemplating pulling it out as well. That looks awesome man great job!

Thanks for the compliments guys but EclipseOwner95 you have an awesome car too so no worries there, you put a lot of hard work into it and it shows. I think there are many levels of tucked bays and its all about how extreme you want to go. Mine is a big "Fk You!" to the cops since in CA they can pop you for anything. I have never gotten a ticket in one of my DSMs (knock on wood) and I have driven around with a parachute on and dumped exhaust on the way to the track. I just want to see a cops face when they pop the hood. "Its stock officer I swear.."


I had a little build thread for it I keep laggin on but I'll finish posting pics eventually
