My cfdf springs just...broke idk why. So I need a new clutch, its a non turbo tranny but the car is turbo. im kinda between the spec stage 3 and the 2600. But i want some input, im afraid im gonna brake a clutch fork here or something stupid.

I do have plans of replacing my non turbo trans someday, but it works so flawlessly i hate to toss it.

i only could find a n/a clutch on clutch city, ebay had nothing but ebay brands.
any reccomendations for sites would be great too.

later,
colton

isnt that basically the 2100 for na? i was looking more at the spec 1 and 2 since i realized the spec3 is a 6 puck. idk, just looking to see what everyone else runs here and any problems they may have had.

You will blow the transmission far before the HD clutch but if you want more clamping force for whatever reason, go with the XT disk.

yeah i guess the n/a trans is gonna go poof at around 300ft bls give or take. i trust act and a friend has the spec and its great too. now i just gotta make up my mind.

act hd w/ street disc- 241lb ft @ $278.81
spec 1 organic disc- 235lb ft @ $279
spec 2 kevlar disc- 280lb ft @ $319
act xd w. street disc- 323lb ft @ $358.62

My spec 2 kevlar disc in my 1g turbo was smooth as hell. L:ight engagement and just slightly grabby. But then it popped out a spring and jammed between the PP fingers and the disc. toasted that whole setup quick.

damn thats exactly what happened to my cfdf. You had me ready to get the spec 2 untill you said that last part. ACT has always been good to me. i just was interested in trying the spec.

the more input the better

thats alright my act just did the same thing a couple days ago except the spring fell out the back of the lightened flywheel.

I'd blame my driving but i never even launched the spec. it rattled from new

mine was chattering. I can't hardly blame my driving i dont beat on it in anyway. and im not making that much power. what are all the causes for chatter. i know the flywheel side took the chatter abuse which on the cfdf was also an 8puck surface...

my spec didnt chatter on engagement. it just made a rattling noise idling its sounded like a tob noise but i think it was the springs rattling before it fell out

Well even though after all of this I was ready for the spec stage 2, 92DSMErdrick had a barely used 2600 kit for bout 180 shipped. I couldnt turn down that price, and with my future hopes of a turbo trans cheaper seemed the better route. hopefully i don't cause myself more work :(

Just remember, a turbo clutch won't work for you UNLESS you use an AWD flywheel in your FWD n/t transmission. Even then, that's theoretical from a few measurements I did over a year ago. It was never really tested.

its supposed to be a non turbo clutch. i think the non turbo is 215mm and the turbo is 225mm in diameter? it hits the bellhousing if you use a turbo clutch i know i read that on here somewhere.
