I got the engine from a 95 automatic gsx and a fresh unaltered wiring harness with manual ecu for a 97 gst. The car will crank but not start. I also noticed that on the timing belt side of the automatic engine there are two plugs and only one plug from the wiring harness fits in there.... Could this be the problem??????

the 95/95 motors have a cam and crank sensor both on the driver side of the engine and your harness is made for a 97 which has a crank sensor on the driver side and a cam sensor on the passanger side... thats your problem

you can do this
http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/tech/1gina2g.pdf
but you will need to swap to 97+ cams also or get a 97+ CAS and swap cams still

Black is correct as you are missing the sensor signal. Without the signals, the car won't start. The ECUs are the same otherwise.

RRE Instructions

The intake cam just needs to have the slot on the passengerside so the CAS can be inserted into it. Follow the instructions in the link or buy the harness. I think JNZ also carries it but not too positive on that.
