So my car died the other night and my friends told me it was the ecu. So after I got the newer ecu we replaced it and have NO spark, but have fuel. Before we took the old ecu out it had spark and would start every once in a while. I have a 90 GST but the ecu is a 91, I've replaced the 6 wire and 14. Can anyone really help give me ideas why the car won't start at all. We even put the old ECU back in and it won't spark now either. If anyone has a picture or link of where the grounds are for the ecu please help me.
Also we ran a diagnostic test with my friends shop scanner and it was coming up with nothing saying the connection was bad. We also put another throttle body on last night but didn't do anything really to mess up the wires. I read on somewhere that I need a power transistor so does anyone know if that is true, because the shop I got the ecu from didn't mention one thing. Thanks for the help guys.

Possibility of leaking caps in the ecu. Or a sensor could be damaged. The same thing happened to my car when I was putting the engine back in... Good luck

the guy I bought it from, said the shop owner put it in his colt before he sold it to me and it worked just fine, now I don't believe that he checked to see if it worked. Also someone told me its the CAS so someone is letting me borrow 2 of his to check it it makes it spark.

I would check another ecu to be safe. If it was a 91 ecu and you changed the pinouts. The car should run fine. As for your ecu, I know where you got it from, but I will keep my comments to myself.

Haha yeah and I just went and got the one from you with STILL no spark, we installed a new CAS and Coil pack and still no spark. The ecu i bought 1st from a certain shop was leaking and I'm starting to think that it could have blown something when we installed it. Any more suggestions

UPDATE: We found out that the Power Transistor was bad, Fiascoxl came over and within 5 minutes and installed his, which made it spark. BIG thanks to Fiascoxl and GSX93DSM. Now I just have to put everything back together
