Alrite, so i posted before and i did get good info! i did a search and found good info! also! but now i am in trouble! i am stuck! here is what is happing!

1990 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD - Stock

1. I am getting no spark across all cylinders.
2. Alternator belt and Steering Belt is Turning cranking etc.. Only thing TURNING!
3. My timing belt does not move! at all! it try to start and the starter tested fine!
4. I changed out Coil pack, and Power Trans, and CAM Angle Sensor, and this other thing that has to do with spark! its on the firewall and has a silver casing!
5. I also changed starter did the same thing! checked the voltage at starter! its fine!
6. I am getting fuel
7. Checked for spark nothing!
8. Should i try to push start the car see what happens?? i dont want to do that dont want to cause more damage!
9. WHAT WOULD NOT CAUSE THE TIMING BELT NOT TO CRANK? and TURN??

So my question is? whats happing! could it be my alternator is not working?
Is it the ecu?
I checked timing belt it feels fine? it has tension and does not feel broken.
I want to check the compression on engine! but i dont have the tool so i called up my partner and his lagging! But when the car broke down ! i was not smashing it! I repeat not smashing! it died on my at a stop sign! i was on phone and some damn lady! was in my way i was turning right! and this biaaatch kept moving forward so i tried to move forward a bit and BAM! it dies on me! i let out the clutch to much it stalled on me! then i try to start up car! and it does not want to start! awwww!

So please help me! i am good at fixing my car! this is my 3rd DSM~! what else could it be!
Oil and everything looks good on car! could it be battery? i tried another one and still the same thing! And i need my car running!

its all stock! and was running real good before this happend?

PLEASE HELP!!  :barf: :boring: :sosad:

you try turning the crank over with a wrench maybe you motor is lock up i dont see how everything else would movew but the timming belt when it is right off the crank but anyways i have had this happen to me i had to roll the car back alittle the try it my car kept turning over but notthing then when i moved it back 3 4 feet it started right up so try that

From the description of the alternator and power steering pump pulley turning while cranking, while the timing belt does not turn. I would say there is an issue with the timing belt under the lower timing cover. The belt could have broken and possibly bent some valves also.

Remove the lower timing cover and inspect the timing belt.

The starter will still turn the crank, which will turn the accessory belts, but it sounds like there is a break between the cam gears and the crank pulley.

Thanks fellas! i am working on my brothers car right now! changing the brakes and rotors! but i will try what you suggested! i thought about turning the crank? but i need to check and see if i have the tool? i think its a regular socket right? to turn and test the crank? i am also going to remove the bottom cover see what happens! the belt does not feel broken?? but to make sure i double check! thanks for the help! i hope its nothing major!! If you have an idea what else it could be suggest! thanks and i keep you guys updated!

The crank must be free if it is spinning the accessories. Turning it over by hand and watching the belt can't hurt though, you may be able to hear the belt skipping on the teeth.

The crank can be turned with a 1/2 inch drive ratchet or breaker bar.

It's important to keep the bolts from the timing belt cover in the same holes they came out of. They are different lengths and must go into the proper hole. So just keep everything in order. I use a cardboard template or a spare cover to keep them organized.

Hey, I checked to see if the timing belt was broken! but its fine! I have an extra 6-bolt that came with the car when i got it! so i am thinking of just replacing the motor with the newer 6-bolt less miles! I just dont have time right now to do all this but i have no choice! not can any one point me towards a good place to find a good guide on swapping out motor? well thanks for all you help!

I just dont have time right now to do all this but i have no choice!

I think pulling that timing cover and checking the teeth on the belt will be a lot less of a pain that replacing an engine. I think Defiant has the problem figured out.

You do have a choice, you should listen to the advice you are getting!

You have stripped the teeth off of the belt at the crankshaft. This is frequently the way that the timing belt goes bad, they dont always just snap. The greatest load on the belt is during starting, which would explain why it went during startup.

HEY! I GOT THE COVER OFF AND ABLE TO TURN THE CRANK! AND IT DOES TURN THE CAMS! SO THE BELT IS NOT BROKEN? IT TURNS FINE? NOTHING SEEMS TO BE BROKEN!! SO I TRY TO START UP THE CAR! AND AGAIN IT DOES THE SAME? THING? EVERYTHING TURNS BUT THE CAMS! so i am like damn i think its something inside! i am going to get a pressure gauge so i can check compression across the board! see if its time to change out the motor? but if it was that the motor would crank right? something? so am sure its not that! and the car was running real good before all this happend? i was working on it today but it started raining! so tommorow i am going go out see what else it could be? well i think it might be something internal? also i was doing the research on rebuilding my motor! i found couple good places! well if you have a real good link to rebuilding a motor! that be great i found the one on Youtube.com is pretty good! thanks for the help~!

It might be turning now, but there is a good chance that it was'nt at some point and you bent valves. Do a compression test asap.

Yup tomm. i am going to buy it and check the compression.
if the compression is bad or no more? what should i do?? and if the compression is good? what could be the problem? i am tihkning about just rebuilding the motor and starting fresh!!! what do you guys think? here are my options! thanks for reading!:thumb:

1. I have an extra motor sitting in the garage. Its from a wrecked talon.:beatentodeath:
2. my question is should i 1. rebuild motor i have in the car right now.
or 2. replace it with the motor i have sitting in the garage? see i dont know what the compression and how good this other motor really is? i got it with the car! and 2. I AM 110% better off rebuilding this 6-bolt! and starting fresh? right!! instead of waiting and letting this other 6-bolt kick the curb?:rocks:
or 3. Rebuild the motor that is out the car right now! and then switch over everything that is good & some new parts i will replace oil water pump etc. need to go tru check list. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: see what i need to rebuild motor! and its not that hard right! i am good with this dsms and bro and friend go to wyotech(car schooL) they know more about hondas! them hondas!!
and this sounds right... real quick on the rebuild of motor!!

and what kit should i get from this website!!
??? should i get new pistons and all that or just keep my internals and replace seals etc.. well thanks for all the help! DSMTuners is the best! and Thanks to all the true members! for all your help and support~!

90-92 Oil Cooler part #:MD 157670 (6-bolt water cooled oil cooler)
Water Pump
Oil Pump
Timing Belt
6-bolt Flywheel
6-bolt oil pan (if you don't have one already)
Use your knock and coolant temp sensors off your old motor.

also i was doing the research on rebuilding my motor! i found couple good places! well if you have a real good link to rebuilding a motor! that be great i found the one on Youtube.com is pretty good! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVXj4ULvPJQ

Rebuilding a motor really isnt that hard but it does take patience and attention to details. Id suggest having someone do that for you.

That video is pretty cool, its been posted up before.. but remember he doesnt include everything.

If your valves didnt screw up your pistons or any part of your block then throw a different head on it.
