Dear all,

i was trying to install a boost gauge yesterday and i found out that there is no Pressure in the pipes that connects to the fuel regulator ( the regulator has 3 nipples right? i have a tube that connects the two nipples on the side to each other ,but the one in the front its just empty ( its unpluged to anything) is this right? i made a T in the tube that connects to the fuel regulator but there is no pressure at all ( i even remove that whole tube and there is no difference in the running condition????????? please let me know what shall i do

i end up connecting the boost gauge to the intake ( there is a pressure pipe there and now i have readings)

one more thing i connect also a bleed type MBC ( i just unpluged the two tubes that connects to the solinoid and just plug them to the MBC and i am in controll ( its JUST VERY EASY) its really amazing its a 1 minute JOB , now i have reading on second gear 11 PSi but on third i have 15 PSi and on 4th gear i have 23 PSi ( i never reached fuel cut and also on 5th gear i even reached 28 PSI) no fuel cut nothing but there was a nasty Smell its like something was burning ???? i am running an EVO 3 BOV plastic

any help or advise will be highly appreciated

thanks

You should be connecting the boost gauge to the line running from the intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator solenoid. If thats what you did, try to stick a pipe cleaner in the nipple on the intake manifold. It might be blocked up with something.

Where are you connecting the manual boost controller to?
^^^
cancel that

EDIT: try to connect the boost controller from the nipple on the turbo/j pipe and the other end to the waste gate. If you dont have a nipple there, do it from the BOV line until you can tap into the j pipe. I have an aftermarket j pipe on my 14b so I dont have the ability to connect it that close to the compressor. My boost levels are pretty consistent with my current connection to the bov line.

please note that there is no LINE connecting the intake to the fuel pressure regulator ( there is one nipple unplugged) please tell me what shall i do ( there is no pressure readings there at all)

and for my MBC its a Bleed Type and i just connect it to the solenoid ( i removed the two wires and i just pluged them on the MBC) its a great idea and i can controll boost

Try that^ How exactly is the MBC routed on your setup? Where exactly do the lines go?

ok now i know , there is no line connecting the fuel solenoid to the fuel pressure regulator ( there was just one line connecting the regulator to the intake and i made T there and connect the Boost Gauge ( until here i am fine and i will change the set up today)

NOW my MBC ( its a bleed TYPE) it does not have a screw and ball ( its a bleed type) there is a solenoid underneath the water resevoir ( i just unplugged the two wires and plug them in the bleed type MBC and its working ) but my reading as i mentioned i reached 28 PSI ?????????????????????

thanks

Get a better mbc and hook it up the way the diagram shows you. You could even try the one youre using now and hook it up in the bov line. try that and you shouldnt have any issues with over boosting. dont run 28psi on your current fuel system. You WILL burn up your pistons and end up paying a large repair bill.

man the MBC is properly connected ( its just fine) i can controll boost but yesterday i reached 28 PSI man ( for around 10 seconds or so ) do you think i damaged anything ??? there was a smell coming from the engine but there was no fuel cut at ALL.

and after that the car ran fine and till now its running properly also.

this MBC is doing the exact job of the solenoid so instead of the ECu controlls my Boost i Do . ( i am doubting the connection of the fuel pressure regulator to the intake directly without passing by the fuel solenoid. ( MY BOV also is plastic but its for an evo do you think that its leaking also) i am just not getting the power that i want ( i ran 15 psi straight somtimes but still ican not feel much difference from the stock 10 PSI)
