burldude, if you have a really good shop and a huge desire to make something well beyond what I'd hope was a more than adequate multi-hundred horsepower *2 liter* street engine, try this. Seriously.

Take two 4G63's, throw away the cranks, and saw 'em up. Splice them back together at 90 degrees to one another, and get ahold of SCAT and have them make you a custom V8 crank. Whip up a oil pan, some valvetrain pulleys and belts and such, and a new intake and ignition system. Some of that stuff is off the shelf, the rest you apparently have lots of stock to machine custom parts from.

Add back all the usual DSM go-fast parts like 50 trims and what-not; but just double 'em all up.

Than go get a used Vette or a clapped-out Viper and drop your new 9,000 rpm, 1,200 hp DSM V8 in there. They even have those nifty 6-speeds, right? I figure this rig would be good for like 9's and a 220mph top end.

Or, do all of the above but with opposed cylinder banks and have yourself the mother of all boxer motors. Stick that in the back of a Carrera 4...and see if you can keep it between the ditches.

 this idea  the pic that guy drew on the first page  this thread has hit two pages

but like that other guy said. if you want to go faster, just push the pedal harder.
