No heat, Blows out cold air?

When I put my heat on it will only blow out cold air. I already changed the thermostat, so that's not the problem. What other things are there to check before trying to get to the heatercore? sensors on thermostat neck? cables? I would appreciate any help because its winter time here and I dont have any heat:thumbdown

warm up the car.. feel each hose going into the firewall .. if one is hot and the other is cold.. the core is prob clogged. a flush/ may unclog it.

So if they are both hott do you know of anything else that could cause this?

could be the air blend doors. could be in the wrong position... its a long shot.. but iv seen it happen. The linkage can wear out and when you move the heat selector, the blend door doesnt move to where it should. So instead of being in the full hot position, you might be in the cold position.

I just checked the hoses, they are all hott. Can you explain the air blend door's alittle more and how/what i can do to them? when i put it on cold and then to hott or vice versa it doesnt sound like its switching at all, like you should be able to hear it i thought?

Trace the heat control cable down to the lever. It's probably become disconnected.

so what will i hafto take off to get to the the end of the cable? i dont kno where it leads to. i've seen the end that connects to the knob though.

just pull out the stereo. or you might beable to peek your head bedhind the center console. right under the dash. But there is a little plastic lever on the firewall, right behind the radio. When you turn the blend knob, you will see it move... or should see it move. there are 2 things attached to it (2 cables).. one is going to the knob. the other is going to the blend door. UNLESS it came off at the door.. which i have no idea how to get to.... somewhere behind the glove box

Well, I just got found the problem. When I turn the knob for cold/hott.. The lever doesnt move. So i moved it manually by hand and there was HEAT!!!!!! But then i tried making it so it stayed on the hott position and this happened Jb weld? what can i do now? any help please! i dont need the cold air to work ever. not even in the summer. I just need the heat to work!

congrats on finding the problem... that pic isnt all that clear though.. what broke? The bolt that holds it to the firewall? you could try to push the cable to where it needs to be, then zip tie it to something..

Thanks alot for helping me diagnose my problem. I wouldent have though about these things. I just turned the little stub that was left on the firewall and then I jammed it to the hott position with a thumbtack

Not a problem! im not a certified technician for nothing So the thumb tack is holding it in place good?

Yep, it still works and blows hott air! The only reason i shoved a thumb tack in there was because it was the closet thing to me that was sharp enough. But it is holding up!
