No display on SAFC.....

From one prob to the next....After I got rid of my voltage issue, I decided to tackle my only other issue-erratic display from my SAFC. It still worked, but I sometimes couldn't see anything. If I wanted to see the display, I would have to put a little pressure on it.

Anyway, I opened it up today, and the rectangle socket that connects both circuit cards.....the soldered ends were loose...I could move it around to see a gap. So I tried to solder it back on....now it won't come back on at all....

The button lights still come on, which is good at least-I know my settings are still in, and sending the signal to the ECU. Do any electrical-savvy people think I just may have unsoldered the connection completely? Should I this time take it to an electrical shop? Or should I just by another SAFC all together?

I would recheck the solder ends and make sure none are tuching or bleeding over and such. Lights on but no one is home, is't always a good thing. If every thing checks out, not lose and such, time to buy another one me thinks. Good luck.

This is quite true. I will try this again, and if worse comes to worse, I will just buy another one. Thanks for taking the time to help out.

no problem, just hope its a simple fix, because grabing another afc is't the cheap way out, then to reprogram it. Good luck

I brought my SAFC into work today, to have better access to better tools. I took off the plate again, to see that I did indeed disconnect it further than it previously was. Anyway, put some better tools on it...put it back together....Things are all good now!
