Hey guys, I'm almost positive that I am overlooking something stupid but I just want to make sure. A few days ago my gauge lights worked perfectly minus a few burnt out bulbs but I replaced those. The next day I went and stripped out some of my interior, seats, carpet, console. I went out today and went to turn the key and no gauge lights? I had CEL, and alll of my other lights, yes I've made sure my dimmer is turned all the way up. What am I overlooking? It has to be something stupid I'm sure? Why would taking out my seats kill my gauge lights haha

Electrical shit is weird like that. It can go bad at any time. I would test the tails first though.

I'll check them when I get home. I hope it's not my dimmer switch because my other Talon's switch doesn't work either

At least the dimmer switch would be cheap.

I would check the fuses and make sure all connectors are plugged in before buying anything though.

Alright guys, sorry for getting back to you so late, we had a sudden death in the family yesterday so I had my hands full, anyway. I went out and checked my fuses and relays. They were all good. Then I checked to see if they would randomly work turned timmer all the way up, nothing. So I went to test my brake lights, they worked just fine, tried the dimmer switch again, and boom dash lights? WTF

Dimmer is going bad. Go ahead and order you another one to have for when yours finally poops the bed.

Or just get those neons from autozone that you plug into your cig lighter so you can see the gauges when your dimmer goes out again. Ballah

Okay guys I'm about ready to kill something! I have tried 2 different dimmers with no luck! I do not understand this! I have no gauges, but I have my engine lights and what not, no lighting on my cruise control buttons, and no lighting on my heat and ac controls!? What is going on here!
Also I have another problem. You know how your car should beep when you leave your lights on? Or when you leave the key in the ignition and open the door? Well mine wont do that! It only beeps when I switch it to ACC

Okay, I found out that the tail lamp fuse was blown. So that fixed dashlights running lights and HVAC lights. But i still have no light around my ignition, no warning buzz for leaving my lights on, and no buzz for leaving the keys in with the door open

You didn't check the fuse first????????

The lighting monitor buzzer, the key hole illumination light, the key reminder switch and the door switch (dome light switch) are all tied together through the ECU. Your best get a real circuit diagram (factory manual or online) and start testing if not having those features really bugs you.
