Hey everyone, i just bought my first dsm on saturday its a white '92 plymouth laser. All-wheel drive and standard its got 132k miles on the engine and a freshly rebuilt trans with around 1-2k miles on it, its also got a newer turbo (not sure how new). The problem is I can't find the BCS. It is no attached to the air can, and the electrical plug that should connect to the BCS is just hanging there. What kind of problems will this cause? Should I look into getting one? The guy i bought it from told me it gets 'little fuel cuts' when you really step on it, could this be causing the fuel cuts? Thanks for your help

I think but not 100% sure that if the boost seleniod is removed then the wastegate will take over and not boost past 10psi if you need one I have one here $10 plus shipping, I did the mod to it though so it wont be stock

Thanks for the info, i might take you up on that deal. Any idea on what else connects to the bcs? I know theres an electrical connector and 2 vaccum lines, not sure where either of those go though.

*EDIT*

I assume one has to go to the WG. ;)

If you're missing the BCS then most likely the previous owner installed a MBC. With a MBC it's best to leave the BCS plugged in (it makes the ECU happy ;)), but none of the vacuum lines have to be connected. If you want to know if you have a MBC look down by the turbo and you will see a bronze/goldish circle thing with a rod sticking out of it to the right. This is your waste gate actuator and there should be a vacuum line hooked up to the nipple on it. Trace the vacuum line and if it goes to something with a screw or a knob that you can turn then that's your boost controller.

Thanks a lot for all your help guys! I eventually came to the conclusion that the previous owner had an MBC installed because he also had a vaccum hose going into the cabin (i'm assuming for a boost gauge.) There is no MBC as of now, the line just goes straight to the WG, but there will be one shortly :thumb:
