Just bought an 99 RS at an auction for $1,150.

I think it's a good deal, has 45K miles on it, no major dent or body, comes
with some nice 18" rims with healthy tires. Just needs some paint
and maybe an new engine.

I hope I don't need an new engine but bought the car knowing that I might
need to buy an engine.

The car had NX nitrous kit on it which someone stole parts of.

I put oil in the car and the oil just ran out onto the ground.
I jacked the car up and crawled under and notice a pencil size whole come
out of the side of the oil pan near the oil pan bolts.

Does this sound like someone blown the motor mis-using the Nitrous?
If so what a better route to go, rebuild motor or used motor.

My plans for this car is to get it running, put on some new paint and sell it for
a profit.

Any input or thoughts would be great!

If its a connecting rod, then you will have to rebuild all of the internals. Who knows what else that rod destroyed with it. Drop the oil pan and see how bad the damage is.

Ok, I gambled with getting a new engine since I didn't know what was wrong with
my current engine. When the engine was pulled it showed that he had a cracked block.

I gambled right, my new engine runs great! Only cost me $550. Ebay is great! (in some cases)
