hey guys i just bought a pte 60-1 and when i tried to bolt it up it was hitting the watter line. so then i bent that inward a bit and then it hit the water return bolt thats infront of the block. is there an adaptor for it or can i just block it since this turbo doesnt have a water line???? i dont think so but what can i do about it? i wish i had a camera but im broke with all the parts i buy for my car heh.

i took off the bolt just to see if i would have room for it to fit if i got an adaptor and it still hits the coolant line. the big fat one though.

You can plug the hole with the plug you remove from the oil filter housing for the oil feed line. Since the turbo is oil cooled only you should get the oil feed from the filter housing. RRE has pics on what allen plug to remove for freshly filtered oil. You can also replace the water pipe with a NON turbo pipe that will not have that fitting there and that makes the fitment much easier. Mark

whoever said you need an SBR manifold you are wrong, dont post unless you know what you are talking about. You think PTE designed a BOLT ON mitsu turbo that needs a different manifold ? Dent your waterpipe more and plug off the fitting and you will be set

i dented the skinny water line and it cleared that. then it hit the bolt so i took it off to see if it would fit if i put an adaptor in its place and it then cleared that. its hitting the big fat coolant line now. looking at hahns website right now to order the spacer i think ill need.

You do not need a spacer, I have the same turbo(60-1) and it fits, you really have to dent the water pipe, I have also used 2 7cm gaskets to drop the turbo a little lower. here is a pic.

Does your turbo have E or S cover. If it is the E you really shouldnt have much of an issue pull the water lines plug the water feed on the block, dent the water pipe and clock the cover if you still need more room and you will be golden.

I have a similar problem with my RS60T. I just rotated the compressor housing out some so it would fit, but now my fan doesn't fit. What do you do with the other coolant nipple? Right now I have the two coolant lines connected by some tubing.

Yeah and denting the water pipe is an excelent solution. I just sugested the sbr manifold b/c it dosn't require any rigging. The added the extra material for just this reason. Asshat.

You can buy spacers that go before the manifold that will push it out 1/4". The HRC 20G's use this to clear the water pipe. just an option.

Just rotate the housing. It worked for me. Its best to rotate the center cartrige so that the the oil return line will still mate with the oil pan.

thanks alot for the pics paul s. went out there with my socket wrench and pounded that sucker even more. it finally fit. then i was too lazy to go get a bolt for the block so i used the oil pan bolt on there since that was in front of me. worked fine. it bolted up snug. now i hope hahns website will allow for me to return since i ordered it this morning. ill call tomorrow morning and hopefully they havent shipped it out yet.

now im wondering how im gonna put my external wastegate. engine bay is pretty tight. is it cool if i put it at bottom of dump tube but as close as possible to top? theres no comfortable spot for it right now.

another question. now that i plugged the block do i just plug the hose with something or is it gonna need something thatll hold more?

well they will accept it back but im stuck paying 40 bux for nothin anyway. 20 for shipping and 20 percent restocking fee.

anyone help me with o2 housing and wastegate welding ###?

On a 2g, its better to connect both water lines together with a fitting. That water line also feeds/cools something else (cant remenber right now)

Maybe you're thinking about the internal oil cooler under the oil filter? Mark

Nope, the coolant lines that goes to the turbo. I pretty sure that you cant just block them off like the 1Gs.

I have heard that the door swings both ways with this. You could be right. My car runs hotter after I plugged the line. One day when I get around to fixing a few little things, I will add the SBR manifold and let you know.
