New tranny, now loud whistling noise. Help!

I recently had the tranny replaced on my car. When i went to pick it up i noticed this loud whistling noise. I asked them what they had done...they said they too heard the noise. Looked into it to see if it was something they did and they told me they heard it coming from the turbo itself. Looking at my car tonight and listening to the noise it sounds like it is coming more from the area up by the intake manifold, nearest to the windshield.

The noise seems to happen only when the car is boosting. Car is auto and when the car is in park i rev the car up to about 3500-4000 rpms and it makes this whistle. When i am driving as soon as the car hits 2000 rpms it makes the same whistling noise. Again the sound comes from no where near the turbo...so i dont think that has anything to do with it. It sounds like it is coming from right below or arround the intake manifold.

If anyone has any idea what so ever as to what this could be any help would be greatly apprciated. I also have an audio recording of the sound if it would help anyone to hear it. I just have to find a way to upload it online so you guys can hear it. Just let me know.

How was the brakes. Is it the vacuum hose to the master cylinder?

I will have to check that on my lunch today or after work. Maybe that could be the issue. When i hit my brakes my e-brake light in the dash does come on. Could that be a hint? Also driving to work this morning i have noticed that when driving no matter where i am at above 2000 rmps it makes this whistle noise.

Its rather annoying when i drive, so the sooner i get it fixed and any more ideas from anyone would be greatly apprciated.

On a side note, when steping on the accelorator the noise whistles as tho it is sucking air IN but when i let off the accelorator it appers to make a whistle noise OUT for about 2 or 3 seconds then goes quiet.

check all the vac. lines on the intake and under it, there is a big hose that goes to the intake on the bottom side in the back and it makes a loud whistle when its not connected.

The guys who installed your tranny forgot to reinstall a hose.
