I just got this setup and my 90 GS T is totally out of wack. I was playing with Mmcd and my Palm M125 on the car today just to see if it worked and how it works. I have a few questions about how or what my car "tune" should look like. The car isn't drivable so this is just idling in my drive way. What should the OEM values be for a car with no aftermarket upgrades except for a walbro 225FP. I basically just getting this thing running again and I've (as far as I can tell) chased down every boot leak because of a high idle issue.

These are what it logged:
idle - 1437
INJP - 2.30ms
KNCK - 0
02 - 0.54v
TPS - 10.1%
INJD - 2.3%
COOL - -59.0 deg C
AIRT - 38.5 dec C
BARO - 0.99
VSS - 128
BATT - 14.2V
ICS - 0.0%

Any advice on pos or negs of what i logged? Also is there a guide to how to use this software? I've been searching the net all evening and haven't found anything?

Any help would be really appreciated.:hellyeah:

Your coolant temp sensor is either un hooked or broken. Everything else looks about right.

Thanks for the response! You were right about my coolant sensor, it was plugged in but not making a good connection on the sensor so I cleaned the terminal and reads temp now.

Is there a way to ground the pins for BISS and timing adjustments and also to read TPS setting ect or not with this software?

For timing, unplug your datalogger cable, ground the timing plug under the hood (single pin plug on the fire-wall just to the right of the battery box), hook up the timing gun and have a ratchet with a 12mm socket and extension to adjust the CAS, should be 5* BTDC. For base idle, leave your logger cable plugged in, ground the timing plug and use a phillips screwdriver to adjust the screw until idle is at 750 +/- 50 rpm.

The easy way to adjust the BISS is to screw it down until the ISC goes to 25%. Your log shows ISC at zero, so it's trying to lower idle but it ran out of room to go any lower.

Ya I know how to adjust the timing/biss with the grounding but I thought I had read somewhere that you could ground those with the logger. Maybe I miss read that somewhere.

So ISC target should be 25% and all should be well? I'm doing the fiav block off this weekend because I'm finally convinced that that's my problem with the idle. Hopefully I'm correct!

Thanks for the imput guys.

I'll post back with anymore Logger questions (which i have many) when I get back to logging next week after the TB block off.

Ok I did the FIAV block off (hopefully I did it correctly) although my idle is still high. Here is what I have when I ran my logger. This is after setting up my ISC and TPS again. I either screwed up on the FIAV or I still have a boost leak somewhere, the charcoal canister is the only thing I haven't checked. Could that cause a boost leak???? Do these logger numbers look like any potential problems such as my high idle???

rpm 1100 -1400
INJP 2.55ms
O2 0.03V
TPS 9.3%
INJD 2.3%
TIMA 13* - 31*
MAFS 81.7HZ - 113HZ
COOL 242 i think my radiator is isn't flowing (i also have a coolant temp sensor CEL)
AIRT 99
BATT 12.8
MAP 228
FTRL 100%
ISC 16.4% (in beginning then drops to 0% until the end and shoot up to 35%)
FT02 100% - 150%

Ok, I got my idle issues straight finally after purchasing a new rebuilt TB:thumb:. I still have a slight lag when I blip the throttle which I can see that my timing seems to be off by 2* +/-. My car isn't driveable yet so this is all from idle in my drive way. Can someone tell me if my logger readings are ok and which needs to be adjusted? I'd really appreciate any input on my readings.

rpm - 780
inup - 2.04ms
knock - 0
02 - .05v
tps - 5.0%
injd - 0.7%
tima 7* (this jumps a little from 7- 10*) I need to reset this to 5* which I did set it to 5 last night.
mafs - 37.7hz
cool 203*f
airt 108.5F
baro 14.30psi
vss - 128
batt - 12.4v
map - 25.6
ana1 - 41
ana2 - 42
ftrl - 100%
ftrm - 100%
ftrh- 100%
isc - 3.1% (this seems low should be 10%?)
acle - 0.0%
lbmn - 3.83

Also anyone know where I can get some info on what all these terms mean and what they should be set too?

The timing will be advanced by the ECU when the plug is connected. The values you are seeing for timing at idle are normal. If the plug on the firewall is removed and the spade is grounded you should see right around 5* as confirmed by a timing light. My stock 91 sits right around 8-10* with base timing at 5*.

Ok cool. Any idea where my throttle lag is coming from? When I blip the throttle it has a 1/2 to 1 sec delay before it kicks in. Once reving it will seem fine but if I let it settle and then blip it I get that delay.

It could be any number of things. Has the MAS been hacked? Working o2? Your STFT trims haven't had time to move so I can't go off them at all to see if it's lean or rich at idle. Could be a fuel delivery issue, could be a spark related issue. When was the last time the fuel filter, plugs, and wires were changed? Are the plugs gapped correctly? The battery voltage also looks a little low at idle without any accessories on.

It's basically stock. The only upgrade is a walbro 225 FP. I had 8 year old gas in there so had to put new pump and filter in last year. I also put new plugs and wires on at that time. The tank was also flushed and relined then also. I do have a exhaust crack or two. Could that have any effect? Im not running a AFPR at this time since i had other things to do on this before spending money on that stuff. Like I said everything else is stock though!!
