Hey everybody,

I just got a 95rs eclipse and have a few questions. I was told it was converted to turbo and then had the turbo taken out. It has a short shifter ( which took me a mintue to learn). My question is it seams like the car wants me to shift at 2700rmps or it starts jumping/hesitation a little. I changed out the egnition coil and put in bosch platium plugs in and Im not sure if it is suspose to be shifting so early. Also it seems it is running rich. It Has a aftermarket exhaust and has wires on battery for 12's in the trunk. Anyone have any ideas? Im in 5th gear at 45 mph..

Hi, Im the husband.... When the car gets up to 60+ mph it starts to hesitate (bounceses) and feels like the is a fuel problem. I replaced the coil and plugs, and added RPX. should we wait a couple days to see if the hesitation goes away or could it be more? After a google search we have seen that it could be the MAF sensor? just not comfortable with it hesitating after 60+ mph. Really dont mean to sound stupid, kinda knew to DSM (I have a 99' GS that doesn't hesitate).

I assume is an Automatic Correct?.

I used to have an automatic with almost the same thing, but it was around 25mph.

All what I did was, to change the Throttle Position Sensor and Change the Transmission Filter.

I would say, do the easy first, Change your Throttle Position Sensor, and I might sway that it will solve your problem, If it doesn't, then change your Transmission Filter and you will be OK.

I've got the same car, had the same problem. I pulled the hose to the EGR Valve and plugged it. It decreased the issue, but was not The solution. haven't tried throttle position sensor yet, I'd try that. if I find out anything I'll let you know. please do the same.

Its a 5 speed with a short shift. I have no idea how to check the sensors, but will look into it.

Ya Miguel I was assuming the same thing but they seemed contradictive on the info..... LOL

Yea, LOL, I don't know how I mist the Short Shift. haaa:ohdamn:

To the OP.
Check your Throttle Position sensor, and check you EGR, It might be bad or dirty,
Take it off and do a good clean up, and clean the ports where they mount to.

That's all what come to my mind at this time, hopefully some one else with more knowledge on rs jump in and shine our head.

Here's how to check it.... Unplug the TPS electrical connector. Turn on the ignition switch, but do not start the engine. Using a voltmeter, probe the connector's terminals coming from the computer side to test for supply voltage. Touch the negative lead to the connector's terminal ground--most likely the black wire--and the meter's positive or red lead to the connector's terminal reference voltage wire, a blue or gray color wire. Your meter should read a steady 5.0 volts at the terminal. If you don't receive this voltage reading, there is an open or short in the supply wire. Turn off the ignition switch and plug the electrical connector back to the TPS. Test the TPS for signal voltage to the computer. Insert a pin through the ground wire and another pin through the signal voltage wire and connect the voltmeter probes to the pins using alligator clips. Start the engine. As you manually open and close the throttle plate, watch the voltage readings at the meter. The voltage should gradually increase from 1 to 5 volts and back to 1 volt. If you see erratic movement or no movement of voltage signal, replace the TPS. Turn off the engine. Try it and let me know
