New to forums, wanted some opinions on a car I’m looking at

If purchased this will be my first DSM, so I’m a little new to this community. My current car is a 1993 Mazda RX-7 and a 2002 Volkswagen 337, and my previous before that was a 1994 Mazda RX-7. I have two buyers for my 337 and therefore decided to try something new.

I originally looked into the MR2 but the quality of the interior and the age/reliability issues drove me from it. Then I began my search for a GSX. After three months of searching for one that wasn’t abused or beaten in any way I came across one that I actually like.

I called the owner and left a message, hopefully he’ll return my call. If not I’ll try again tomorrow. It’s listed as still being for sale.

“1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse, GSX, 5spd, Turbo, AWD, 78,500 mi, 17 inch Tenzo AV7 rims, Nitto 555 Tires, Slotted Rotors, Boost/Air-Fuel/EGT/Oil Gauge Pillar, Ten-disc CD Changer. New: Timing Belt, Water Pump, Alternator, Rotors/Brake Pads, Plugs/Wires, New 2005 Inspection. Immaculate. Extremely clean. Very well taken care of. Garaged in the winter. I have kept all service records and receipts. Mobil 1 Synthetic every 2,500 mi.”

I already know to ask about the transfer case recall, receipts, grinds and other issues. I ran the vin and it came up clean, he’s the 4th and longest owner. Car seems to be relatively stock, which is a good thing.

I haven’t had the time lately to really sit down and search every FAQ section, but I did come across Club DSM and a few other websites with some decent information on it. Aside from what I’ve already said is there any other issues that I’ll need to address with the owner?

Thanks :thumb:

Well first off get a compression check, that is the most important. It doesn't matter how good he said he took care of it, if the compression is not good. So have him do that for you.

Didn't think of that, thank you.

Price :D
I was actually looking at that same car in Autotrader, but I think the price is rediculous.

Just because it's listed at 12.5 doesn't mean he will only accept 12.5 :thumb:
