You know I think I like the AWD better cause the car doesn't feel any slower from a roll. I thought for sure I was gonna feel alot slower but it doesn't feel that way. I've already smoked a c5 corvette with bolt ones from a roll and at only 18psi. :D

That craps all just hype to make fwds feel better. ;)

You should get that thing on the scale...dont spyders weigh more than their stock gst counterparts? I wonder what the combined weight is. THE WEIGHT AND POWERTRAIN LOSS MUST BE OUTRAGEOUS. o god... But seriously..i wonder what it weighs now.

O god i've probably just started a war.

[EDIT] Hah, silly me. I normally dont read peoples responces before posting my reply on threads like this. Not that it matters, but i kinda asked the same question 5 other people did.[/EDIT]

I'm almost sick of this "FWD owns from a roll and AWD's have too much weight/drivetrain loss". Yes stock for stock a FWD will win against an AWD on the roll. Well that's all fine and dandy for stock cars but once you start making some serious power even from some rolls you won't get traction, so then what? You have no drivetrain loss, no extra weight, but you still lost cause you couldn't put the power to the ground. Now I know I'm starting a major war here but that's just how I feel. I'm not talking about the FWD cars setup like mine either, I'm talking ones making 350 and up to the wheels. My buddy dropped his driveshaft to dyno tune his car and on the way home in 3rd gear at 60 his car would absolutely roast the front tires til 4th if he layed on it. But others might have different views on it and by all means share. I'm just saying I have a lot of fun in my car and as long as you have fun in yours, that's all that matters.

Sure the car is gonna be heavier, but who cares it's not a track car. I guess you have to ride in one to feel the difference. I'm gonna go redyno it here shortly and see what drivetrain loss I have now than from before when it put down 414fwhp on the same setup. Ask anybody who has done the conversion and they'll tell you it was worth it. By the way nice looking car. :thumb:

I think if you have fwd or awd both can be fun. I just got tired of racing people from a third gear roll. Car would just roast them in 1st and 2nd gear. If you put enough power down sure you can beat a fwd from a roll in an AWD. To each his own.

OMG aww you made me blush. I didnt even realise who you were when you made ur post (again, requires reading. See above post) I liked your old spider, and still currently have the video come to think of it. Good to see ur back on the road better than ever.

I was downing ur conversion at all, i think its a great idea. I was just poking fun at the ongoing awd vs fwd saga. I am genuinely interested in its weight though. LOL

hey man congrads on the conversion. You have me beat in the cost for the swap though. It cost me alittle over a grand with the roll cage and fuel cell. :thumb:

How many days & hours did you put into the conversion. I'm thinking about doing one on mine too. Thanks. :thumb:

Dont let mario fool you. When I first met him, he give me the open waste gate salute. I opend my Nuclear flux warp drives and pulled on him in 2nd gear. Then when I started hitting warp drive speeds. I ended up 3 football fields back at the end of 3rd gear. Oh yeah, mario check your damn messages and email :thumb:

Removing the rear end and gas tanks of both cars only takes about 3hours combined. The fabricating is a different story. The guy who did the fabricating took about four days combined to make it look real proffessional and clean. Then of course you have to put the awd rear end, driveline, exhaust and gas tank and rewiring back on. So that's another 2-3 hours. It's not that bad at all if you can find a good welder/fabricator. :thumb:
