Hello fellow Diamond Star Motorists. I bought my DSM on August. Since then I've been fighting a bit with it. So here is my issue. I Installed an Infinity Kappa 1200 W AMP on the car. Brand New 4 speakers and 2 tweeters. Whenever I press the throttle and go into boost I get interference noise. Almost like the turbo runs through my speakers. Plus is there anything I can put between my rear speakers and the car metal. Whenever I run the volume over a certain level the speakers vibrate. If you need the model of the speakers I can find it still have the boxes in the car.

This issue is most likely a bad ground in the system. Rusted, loose, ect.
But I'm the case it's not a bad ground... install a line filter.... I never needed one in a dsm.
If it only happens on fm or am radio install an antenna noise suppressor .

I think it might be the ground then. Where is a good place to run the ground ? I have the AMP behind the rear seats. I was thinking Where the rear 2 bolts are that hold the plastic covers those behind the rear seats.

My amp is behind my passenger seat. I ran the ground to one of the mounting bolts of the parking brake under the console.

Okay thank you very much. I will check it tommorow. Why would I cut the speaker hole ? Do you mean cut the duct into the shape of the speaker and cover that part of the speaker with the duct ?
I think what he's trying to say is place the duct material over the speaker opening and the cut out the opening, leaving the outer edge where the screw holes are. Almost like a gasket for the speaker to sit on.

It's not a dsm... just a picture to show you on a door panal. Just place the material right over the metal and speaker hole. Then when your done pressing the material down with your hands... cut out the speaker opening. My bad for th a bad explanation.

it would be a good idea to check the condition of the stock ground straps, and add or replace as necessary. i put new soldered connections on my body ground strap and added asecond engine ground strap connected to the throttle body bolts. and on the bolt that your amp grounds too, wire brush the paint off the body and clean the threads and everything very good.

that set of stuff eliminated my ground loop and hum noises. also if you have a good set of front speakers and a sub you are better off eliminating the rear speakers. in a car as small as the 2g the rear speakers by the back passengers distort the sound stage terribly. i just have MMATS coaxials in the doors with crossovers hidden, and an 8" sub, door speakers and sub all powered by a 4 channel MMATS amp. no one can believe how it sounds as good as it does. everyone accuses me of having a 12" hidden somewhere.

the other guy is correct on the insulation stuff it works great. also some spray on truck bed liner or that spray on flex seal stuff all work great on the inside of doors and panels for getting rid of squeaks and rattles.
