Thats to damn nice to ever make, thats just a conecpt that will never see the light in that forum

I like the response someone had to it on the website... "mmmm... diesel torque" To be honest, I'm facinated with this idea. I remember reading about this guy who strapped a jet engine to a hummer but his other projects involved hydrogen injection to diesel applications that increased the horsepower and efficiency. Take a look:

AWD. I'm interested.
Of course, it has about as much chance of getting a diesel as we had of ever seeing the gas/electric 4G.

I'm sure they're all floating away on their golden parachutes by now, but there had to have been many, many executives at Mitsubishi who were in deep shit when the 3G replaced the 2G, and again when the 4G replaced the 3G. Every time they try to dick with the fairly-remarkable success of the 1G and 2G T/E/L's, they've come up with stink.
I don't know what keeps Mitsubishi in the automotive business. God knows they don't need it- they could drop that part of their business faster than a lizard drops its tail, and miss it less. It's already twitching less.
Don't expect to see Lambo doors if this concept ever makes production. I'd be surprised if it comes out with AWD, too- AWD has always been a trivial part of the DSM/3KGT customer base.

Will Mitsubishi do the same thing to the Eclipse customers that Datsun did to Z customers, Toyota did to Supra customers, and Mazda did to RX-7 customers, and price this thing at $40K?

And as for biofuel: put it out of your minds. It's great for the 832 people using it now. There's not enough to fuel 10,000 cars, let alone millions. And once the mainstream found it, its price would quickly match gasoline's, just as diesel fuel has.

looks like the rip off of the r8. Good ideas, but I thought mitsu gave up on making turbo awd cars besides the evo in 2000. :(

It wasn't biofuel from what I remember. He actually had just a hydrogen tank in the back of the vehicle that he ran SS line to the airintake. He then set it up to open up at about 3000 RPM's and with the higher the RPM, the more was injected. I seem to remember that he recharged his hydrogen tank from water via electrolysis. I also seem to remember that he could go something like 4 tanks of gas on one tank and he didn't need to run with the hydrogen, it just augmented his fuel efficiency with diesel.

Truthfully, I think its ugly as hell. I like the fact that there thinking of coming out with an awd turbo again. If only they could keep the price down to then it would be worth it to buy in the future.

I actually kind of like the interior though. That car wont sell as is in the link though. It would be way overpriced. It would be like the 300zxtt's that sold big the first year then dropped off huge the next year.

"We'll forgive you for the 3rd and 4th Gen Eclipses" ROFLROFLROFLROFL

LOL that was the funniest line i've heard all day. The new eclipse looks sick, but diesel is sooo expensive, close to $4 a gallon sometimes. Tons of potential for it to sell, especially if the price comes down like the vid said. Unfortunately, i don't think i can ever forgive mitsu for the 3rd gen...:barf:

Well this is a whole lot better than that 4th gen p.o.s. fwd all motor 6 cylinder eclipse.
At least this one makes more sense, but if it were me id make this new eclipse come with a 2.3 stroked evo version of the 4g63. Why stroked? Because its a heavy ass street car that needs some low end umph. Keep the 4g63 alive you know, but unfortunatly that wont happen.
